This is a quick start!!!
OK this is a very badly and quickly thrown together web site, that may prove advantageous to all of us in the future.
The basic idea is that there will be over 1000 people many of which will know each other, but only have Fujitsu Email and Mobiles as contacts... And we are all going to be looking for and hopefully finding work, often as contractors for short term contracts in the current market.
Hopefully some of us will have too many work offers and will be in a position of turning down work... so the idea came.. instead of turning it down why not pass it on to an ex colleague! and of course take a small cut in the process like any agency would do...
Typically agencies take 20% - 35% my thoughts are as a co-operative we could undercut them and take 10% giving 90% to the person actually doing the work. Better than saying NO to any offer as it keeps your name on the books for the future, and at the same time helps out an ex Fujitsu colleague.
In due course there will be individual logins and some form of donation system to cover costs. I was thinking of charging an annual fee and putting that towards the cost of maintaining clearance etc. but that now looks impossible for a small organisation to achieve.
But that is for December 12th (or when I sober up!) first thing is we need to get as many of the people made redundant onto the list with alternative contact details before they disappear from the Gal and Mobile contacts we have at the moment.
The site is owned and run by Pete Ravenscroft UST from Bristol, at the moment I am the only one who will have access to the database, and adding your name implies that you are happy for me to have that access to your contact information. In a few weeks the system will develop and I will give all those signed up the chance to subscribe with proper secure login's etc. or at any time take there own personal details off the system. so I am basically asking you to trust me, as obviously this has to be thrown together quickly.
